Event Guidelines
Purpose
The What’s on Cardinia Events Calendar is an initiative of the Cardinia Shire Council. The calendar is for events within our local area and our immediate cross-border neighbours.
The primary purpose of the calendar is to draw an audience or attendance at events from the community and/or visitors. Commercial businesses are welcome to post events, however it is not a platform to advertise products or services offered by their business.
Guidelines
For events to be listed on the What's On Cardinia calendar the following guidelines apply:
- The event must be held within the Cardinia Shire Council borders
- Event organisers are responsible for uploading information regarding their event.
- It is the responsibility of the event organiser to ensure appropriate approvals are in place prior to listing their event (ie permission to use the venue, permits, approvals etc ).
- The event must be in the interests of public health and safety and in a COVID safe environment.
- The event must be open to the general public and have broad appeal to residents and visitors.
- If the event is being delivered online, the content must be available to everyone in the area covered by Cardinia Shire Council.
- Event organisers must include an accurate description of the event and a good quality image.
- The event organiser must not include images that may be offensive, inappropriate or in violation of copyright laws. Images should be appropriate for the event being submitted.
- Event details submitted must be up to date and accurate. It is the responsibility of the event organiser to manage their event listing.
- No event will be listed that:
- Adversely affects Cardinia Shire Council’s public image or reputation;
- Conflicts with Council’s values, policies or statutory responsibilities;
- Is overtly political in nature, offensive, abusive or racist.
- Is a sales promotion or special offer.
- Does not specify a time and date and organisers contact details.
Events are reviewed, removed or added to the calendar in accordance with these guidelines and the What’s on Cardinia team reserves the right to edit or decline any event.
Information on the calendar is shared from other sources and the owners of 'What's On Cardinia’ are not responsible for views or opinions expressed or errors or omissions in the information shared.
By publishing events to What’s on Cardinia, Cardinia Shire Council is in no way endorsing the event.
Events Disclaimer
Cardinia Shire Council shall not be liable, to the extent permitted by law, for any loss or damage whatsoever which is suffered (including but not limited to indirect or consequential loss) or for any personal injury suffered or sustained in connection with any use of or reliance on any information contained on this page, or in connection with any event listed on this site. Cardinia Shire Council makes no warranty as to the accuracy of the information posted.
As a condition of listing your event on Whats’s on Cardinia, you warrant that all approvals and permits required to be obtained in respect of the event, have been obtained and that the event complies with all legal and regulatory requirements pertaining to the location of the event.
Except for any liability that cannot be excluded by law, Council (including its officers, employees and agents) excludes all liability for any personal injury or loss or damage (including loss of opportunity) whether direct, indirect, special or consequential, arising in any way out of the promotion and or staging of the event listed on the What's on Cardinia site.
Featured Events
Featured events are on the landing page of the calendar and sit at the top of the page. These events are updated frequently, and we cannot guarantee how long an event will be featured on the calendar landing page.
The featured events are either Council sponsored, Council run programs and/or events, or are likely to enhance the visitor experience in Cardinia Shire Council.
Whether or not an event is featured is at the sole discretion of Our What’s On Cardinia team.

Listing your event is free and mulitple event listings are welcome
Please note – we try and review and publish events in a timely manner, however this is not always possible.
